Wendy has been organizing World Languages Day since 2007. Though her own background is in Russian, she enjoys connecting young people with all languages. In addition to organizing World Languages Day, Wendy is the Program Coordinator for the Russian Flagship Center and Assistant Director of the Language Institute.
Outreach Assistant Kassi Rauch
Kassi has been a proud linguaphile for as long as she can remember, and a field trip to World Languages Day when she was in high school ultimately is what brought her to UW-Madison to follow through on her dreams of language study. Now, as a student of Linguistics, she delights in studying whatever languages she can make time for, whether German, Spanish, Ancient Greek, or Russian. She continues to seek involvement outside of class whenever she can, both through the International Learning Community, where she interns and continues her research on language documentation and conservation, as well as through her work here, at the Language Institute. As a previous volunteer at World Languages Day, she is very excited to play a bigger role in continuing to make it an awesome day for everyone!
