Obtaining RAILS Lessons to Host at Your Institution

All of the RAILS lessons are available for educational use in U.S. institutiuons of higher education. Institutions download copies of the lessons to host locally and make available to their instructors and students by password, per the terms of the end user licensing agreement (view sample).

To obtain a license to download RAILS lessons to make available to students in your courses, click on the Lessons tab above, indicate the series of lessons that you are interested in licensing, then click on the link to request a license. The request will be reviewed and approved within 48 hours. You will receive a password, valid for 10 days, to download the lessons.

Each series of lessons in bundled into a package to be downloaded. Each package includes:

  • a zip file containing all of the files for that series of lessons, organized by lesson

  • teachers guides (PDF) for each lesson in the series

Lessons based on the films Solovky Power and Children of Ivan Kuzmich

Per our agreement with the copyright holder of the films, institutional licenses for RAILS lessons based on the films Solovky Power and Children of Ivan Kuzmich are available to North American post-secondary institutions.

To obtain a license, institutions must first purchase a copy of the film(s) Solovky Power and/or Children of Ivan Kuzmich from Goldfilms:
